When we hear the word ‘confidence’ we put in our own words what
it may mean to us. Although, our definitions may sound different, it
will usually come close to the actually meaning.
They
define confidence as a noun. This is a person, place or thing. It
states that confidence is the consciousness of one's powers or of
reliance on one's circumstances or it can be, faith or belief that one
will act in a right, proper, or effective way.
I like how it says it is the “Consciousness”. This definition is telling us that our confidence is our faith in something. In Hebrews 11:1,
it tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen. In the Amplified Bible, it adds that it is,
faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses. You
cannot have faith in something that you can see, hear, taste, smell or
touch. It is not faith. We cannot see, hear, smell, taste or touch our
confidence, our consciousness…our faith.
Romans 9:1(AMP),
Paul says, “I AM speaking the truth in Christ. I am not lying; my
conscience [enlightened and prompted] by the Holy Spirit bearing witness
with me”.
If we break it down, it is saying that it is
the Holy Spirit telling or reminding us of the power of GOD in our
situation or circumstances.
I see it just like this.
Let
us say you were confronted by someone much bigger than you might be.
Moreover, you know that you have someone you trust right behind you.
They will not allow any harm to come your way. They are more than enough
to take care of this situation. You know now that the situation is not
so big anymore. In fact, the situation will not affect you. You can tell
that person that they can and will leave. All that they can do is
leave. Just then, you stood in confidence, in the knowing of the end
result.
In this scenario, you can plug in a problem,
sickness or anything that might be confronting you. If you are a child
of GOD, then you should know that behind you is GOD. All you have to do
now is declare the word of GOD to that issue and believe to receive what
it is you need. Turn away from the issue and face GOD.
Anytime I have to do this, I release that care to GOD. I like these scriptures.
1 Peter 5:7(AMP)
-Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries,
all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you
affectionately and cares about you watchfully
Psalm 55:22(AMP)
-Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will
sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be
moved (made to slip, fall, or fail)
When putting your complete confidence in GOD just remember…
Deuteronomy 31:6
-Be
strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them,
for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or
forsake you!
What a great scripture to hold on to when facing those situation or circumstances.
-simply put
that mom down the street
