Did the title
get your attention? I pray that it has. I hope that when you are done reading
this that you take this everywhere you go! That you walk around naked every
day.
Many of us have gone through something bad
that was very big in our lives. This something might have greatly affected the
way you think and see things. Do know that this bad thing was never GOD’s plan
for your life. And with GOD this thing should no longer break your spirit. I am
not saying that you may never be hurt from it again, what I am saying is that
allowing GOD to handle it and let go of it to release the healing that is vital
for you spirit. Though, we might think that we are the only one that has gone
through such pain, there are many elsewhere going through the same. In 1Peter 5:9
AMP it says it very clearly. “Withstand him; be firm in faith
[against his ( the devil) onset--rooted,
established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same
(identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of
Christians) throughout the world.” It tells us that the devil will try and come
against us. It is him that puts the thoughts of evil in people and it is up to
those people to fulfill them or not. This is the reason why we are to be naked,
not in the physical or flesh but in the spirit. Sadly, it seems that once we
give our lives to GOD and become what the world calls “Christian” that we try
and cover those battle wounds up. We try and cover up, because we should truly
know the difference between good and bad. This was the same thing Adam and Eve
did in the garden. “Then the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that
they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves apron
like girdles.” Genesis 3:7 AMP. Just like them our eyes are open and we try and
cover things of our past. Those things that have happened to us we feel that
someone might judge us with or try and condemn us. But we should not cover up
but show the world that we are not perfect. Allow them to look at us and know
that someone was able to get out of that trouble, problem or issue. We need to
stop trying to cover ourselves in our own righteousness. Why should we walk
around naked? Because we, as GOD’s children, should be the example to the
world! How are we to save and help those that have gone through the same if
they do not know where to turn? We might be the key to them understand GOD’s
love and grace. Sadly, so many Christians walk around in these self-righteous
coverings as though they are perfect. I am not trying to say that we are all
like this but there are enough around to make people not come to Jesus. These
interactions that were designed to save the lost only make the lost feel more
condemned. I pray that we grasp the true meaning of Romans 3:23 AMP “Since all
have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God
bestows and receives. [All] are justified and made upright and
in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace
(His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in
Christ Jesus.” We must stop walking around as though we were born perfect. We
were made perfect through GOD’s love and grace. This is why we should be open
to the world so that they can see GOD’s work in us. Walk around naked, show
those battle wounds to others. Allow them to see that through GOD, there is an
answer and there is relief. Stop worrying about what someone is going to say in
judgment. This too is written in the Word. In the eighth chapter of the book of
John, when the Scribes and Pharisees came to Jesus with the woman caught in
adultery. They were living under the law and were trying to judge her and
wanted Jesus (who came to give us grace and truth, John 1) to judge her under
law as well.
.
The Word says “Judge not
[neither pronouncing judgment nor subjecting to censure], and you will not be
judged; do not condemn and pronounce guilty, and you will not be condemned and
pronounced guilty; acquit and forgive and release (give up resentment, let it
drop), and you will be acquitted and forgiven and released” Luke 6:37. You can
see this work in the rest of the events that took place. So, they asked Jesus
what to do with her. So very beautifully He gave His answered “Let him who is without sin among you be the
first to throw a stone at her.” Then He bent down and went on writing
on the ground with His finger.
(In this He shows how they were judging through the 10 commandments, the law,
which were written in stone) They listened to Him, and then they began
going out, conscience-stricken (they
felt condemn by the same judgment they were bestowing on her), one by one,
from the oldest down to the last one of them, till Jesus was left alone, with
the woman standing there before Him in the center of the court. When Jesus
raised Himself up, He said to her, “Woman, where are
your accusers? Has no man condemned you?”
She answered, “No one, Lord!” And Jesus said, “I do not
condemn you either.” Only
Grace was left. When we walk in this world naked to allow others to see GOD,
then people we see what Jesus truly came for, which was to give His grace. When
we look at someone in sin, it is not for us to judge them. It is for us to look
at them in the same way Jesus would have. Jesus prayed “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.” This is the very same way we need to
be to each other. Praying for them and being the example. And of course, how
can we be that example? By being naked and showing GOD’s love through us.
You
will see that it is much more liberating then you think. So, let us take off
our fig leaves and walk with GOD as we were intended to.
